- The crankcase is made of light aluminium alloy of high resistance hardening anda tempered silicium. The removable cylinder liners are constructed of aluminium.
- During each engine removal, carry out a careful cleaning; remove the plugs and flush with solvent the oil galleries

Checking Main Bearings
- Install the cyl. heads with used gaskets and tighten the nuts, according to the prescribed sequence, the torque to 10 kgm (table M4).
- Coat with Prussian blue the boring bar AS/4736 with dia. of 66.675 - 0.01/0.02mm, and place it in the main bearing housings (fig. 4).
- Make sure that the boring bar rests evenly and verify the contact zones made evident by the Prussian blue. If contact zones are not uniform retouch with the scraper (fig. 5).
- Tighten the central bearing cap to a torque of 9 kgm (table M4).
- Turn the boring bar; should it require a certain effort, remove the main bearing cap and retouch with the scraper the areas of excessive contact made evident by the Prussian blue.
