Short Description
The new Mercedes-Benz C-class range not only looks a whole lot better, it introduces a host of new features and technical innovations. Mercedes-Benz says that the changes are aimed particularly at improving safety, comfort and driving pleasure, and also to provide the cars with a more dynamic appeal that will complement their fresher and more youthful appearance.

As in the E-class and S-class sedans, the new C-class has more front legroom than anyone is ever likely to need. This is just as well, because rear legroom is very tight with the front seats set right back. With the front seats set in a position to suit my reasonably long legs, rear legroom was just enough for adults. Seat comfort is generally good for four out of the five occupants; the centre rear position is uncomfortable, due to limited seat padding and a large floor hump. Good suspension compliance provided both test cars with a comfortable ride that did not seem unduly affected by the low profile 55- series tyres that are fitted. There’s no facility to fold the rear seat (though a split-fold rear seat is listed as an option) but the standard boot is of a good size and it should prove adequate in coping with the requirements of an average family.
